The Nature in the Round and Further Gouache Techniques workshops that were due to take place this year, will be re-scheduled to run in 2021. Places will be assigned to those already registered for those workshops.
Themes for 2021 workshops will include:
Illustrating Historical Artefacts - using some of the drawing and painting techniques we use for botanical and natural history art to portray historical and interesting artefacts with accuracy and attention to detail. Media: Graphite pencil for drawing and watercolour.
Field-margin Plants in Pen & Wash or Pen & Colour Pencil - Using the sown field margins on the estate farm as inspiration, we will visit the plants in situ and then choose our subject matter. Once back in the workshop tuition will be given in how to draw the plants accurately and to scale, before rendering them in pen and ink. A further option will then be to colour all or part of the work with watercolour paints or colour pencils.
An Introduction to Pen & Ink Techniques for Natural History Art - Have you ever wanted to have tuition in using pen and ink to portray natural history subjects? Now is your chance. This workshop is an ideal accompaniment to Sarah's book due for publication in 2021 'Natural History Illustration in Pen and Ink'.
Further details about all of the workshops will be published online and in the workshop handbook in Autumn 2020.
